New Delhi : On Republic Day, when the world’s attention was focused on India, rioters rioted in the capital Delhi under the guise of farmers’ movement. The tractor rally by the farmers turned violent. The protesters, who were attacking the country’s identity, tried to kill the police yesterday.
As many as 86 police personnel were injured in yesterday’s violence and 15 cases have been registered. According to police, 86 police personnel were injured in the violence at Mukarba Chowk, Ghazipur, Seemapuri, Nangloi Tea Point, Tikri Border and Red Fort areas. The violence also damaged 17 private vehicles. Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Friday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck.
The violence is being condemned around the world. India has been humiliated by yesterday’s embarrassing incident. Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Amarendra Singh has condemned the violence in Delhi, saying some anti-social forces were behind it. Chief Minister Amarendra Singh has also appealed to the people to go to the border of Delhi. He has also issued a warning in Punjab. Haryana Chief Minister Manoharlal Khattar also convened a meeting of senior police and administrative officials in Haryana yesterday and ordered them to remain vigilant in the state.
