Iprovpn Review 2021 - Tested &Amp; Reviewed!

iProVPN Review 2021 – Tested & Reviewed!

iProVPN is new, but it has managed to come to the limelight pretty fast! I’ve tested and reviewed the app in great detail! Head to the this iProVPN review for more!

iProVPN is another new addition to the VPN market. With having cropped up in such a short time, I think it is only fair that I test the entire VPN app and its performance. In this iProVPN review, I’ll test the VPN’s speeds, security, unblocking abilities, and whether it works on the most popular devices. But, first, before heading to he review, let’s talk about some basics.

What is a VPN? Are all the same?

Cybersecurity is only a small term that holds a huge purpose. When we talk about online security and protection of privacy or data, we usually urge users to take active cybersecurity measures. The rise in online threats have reached beyond the peak, and a VPN is one way to curb these issues.

A VPN, short for Virtual Private Network, is a security software that is designed to protect user data, device, privacy, and allow them to bypass online restrictions safely. It works to secure your data by passing all web-traffic through an encrypted tunnel, and then to the internet or final  destination. However, not all VPNs are the same, which is why we test and review them.

There are a couple VPN providers that claim to offer the best security or speeds, but in turn, offer just the opposite. Why should a person pay big bucks for VPN protection if the software doesn’t work?

For this reason, I’ll be testing the iProVPN app and look for certain features. By the end of this iProVPN review we’ll see whether this provider is truly a great VPN.

No time to go through the entire review? Then, maybe an abridged iProVPN review should help:

  • Has a 4.8 TrustScore rating on Trustpilot along with majority reviews being positive.
  • iProVPN is pretty affordable, and the cheapest price is on the 2-year deal, and costs only $2.1/mo.
  • Comes with 80+ servers, 26+ locations in 19+ countries. A little less than I’d expect, almost all the servers work.
  • When tested, got access to a couple Netflix libraries, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney Plus, Hotstar, DAZN, Sky Sports, HBO Now, and a couple others.
  • The speeds were alright, not too fast and not too slow. However, what I did appreciate was that there was no lagging issues.
  • Located in the British Virgin Islands, free from data retention laws and surveillance. Perfect for privacy-conscious users.
  • Does not log user data.
  • Customer service is very prompt and helpful – also available 24/7.

How much does iProVPN cost?

According to me, iProVPN is quite affordable. I believe that a VPN’s price doesn’t always have anything to do with its performance. For starters, there are cheap VPN services that don’t work, while there are some that perform far better than most high-end VPNs. However, we always need to go through the prices to see what we’re up against.

Here is how much iProVPN costs:

Iprovpn Review 2021 - Tested &Amp; Reviewed!
  • $10 for the 1-month package
  • $0.99 for a 7 day trial, and then billed $24.95/ year after that.
  • $2.1/mo., for the 2 year plan (Most affordable)

There are VPNs that are far more expensive than iProVPN, even though I find the monthly plan a little steep. However, let’s first go through the rest of the iProVPN review to see whether this provider is worth buying.

There is no free trial available. You will only find a 7 day trial period for $0.99 on top of the 1-year plan. The good news is that iProVPN does offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. You can use that as a longer trial period and if you don’t like the service, contact the support team for a full refund! Make sure you go through the entire terms and conditions before thoroughly to see smooth operations through.

iProVPN – Encryption and features

As mentioned above, a VPN is a great software for online security and privacy. Any VPN should be strong enough to provide all-round protection. If not, then it defeats the purpose of a VPN entirely.

Luckily, iProVPN has some pretty great security features, and they worked fine when I tested the app. I conducted a few tests on the Windows app, and first tested for any IP, DNS or webRTC leaks – the results were leak-free! There were no signs of any data peaking through.

The VPN is run with AES 256-bit encryption, running all your data or web-traffic through a secure tunnel. The app comes with a Kill Switch feature that is great for protection of your IP address or location if ever the VPN connection fails.

Other than that, the apps come with a Split-Tunneling feature to pass only selective apps through the VPN tunnel. There is an Ad-Blocker, a Smart Connect, and DNS and IP leak protection (as discussed above. There is also Malware protection, and unlimited bandwidth for streaming and other activities.

A small part of the security front is also to do with if a VPN logs information or not. Take a look at the iProVPN logs policy in the next point.

 The iProVPN no-logs policy

There is no point in a VPN if it logs sensitive data. There are many apps and websites that we use on a daily basis that often log user data. So, what good is a VPN if it can’t fulfil one of these basic functions? The good news is that iProVPN does not log user data. Here is a small excerpt from its no-logs policy:

iProVPN is committed to user privacy.

The only information the VPN does collect is minimal, like your email address, which is what most VPNs collect to stay in contact with their customers.

Does iProVPN unblock geo-restricted streaming services?

Yes, it does. Most users often buy VPNs to access geo-blocked or restricted content on platforms like Netflix, or Hulu. Most countries are often subjected to surveillance or censorship laws, which is why it’s so difficult to get access to even Wiki pages etc.

Luckily, when I tested iProVPN on a couple of servers, I got access to a number of streaming services. Some of them include Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Sky Sports. It was a little surprising at first, considering that iProVPN offers very limited servers. You will find only 80+ servers in 19+ countries. I guess there is still more time for iProVPN to increase the list, as the VPN is still new and growing.

Here is a quick view of a few of the services I got access to:

  • Netflix (US and UK library)
  • Hulu
  • Sky Sports
  • HBO Now
  • DAZN
  • Amazon Prime
  • Disney Plus (US and UK)
  • Hotstar
  • AE TV
  • Food Network
  • Comedy central

The results might be a little different for you depending on where you are located in connection to the server you’re connected to. Keep switching servers to get the best results or contact the support for help.

Apps and device compatibility

You will find that iProVPN offers various apps for some of the popular operating systems. Here is a list of what devices and platforms it supports:

  • Windows
  • Android
  • iOS
  • macOS
  • Linux
  • FireTVstick
  • Routers
  • Smart TVs
  • Chromebook
  • Nvidia Shield
  • Roku

You will also be able to make up to 15-multi device connections. Plus, since iProVPN supports an app for routers, you could add more devices through a router connection.

Do I recommend iProVPN?

Yes, I do. It’s actually a little too early to say whether iProVPN makes one of the best providers, especially since it’s only been around for a little more than a year. However, I can definitely say that iProVPN is a great provider especially for beginners.
